Your Hat Idea. A Clear Development Brief.
Relia Hats is a China-based custom hat factory developing hats from customer requirements, drawings and reference styles. Bring your material choices and your own logo; we will use them to discuss the design and the specification for your project.

Start from a catalogue reference or your own drawing
You can begin with a hat in the catalogue and explain the changes your brand needs, or share your own drawing to develop a design brief. Both routes lead to the same useful outcome: a clear description of the hat to review, sample and quote.
A catalogue link is particularly helpful when you like an existing crown shape or brim. Identify what should stay and what should change. A drawing-led brief is useful when the proportions, panel arrangement, material combination or decoration need to be considered together.

Starting route
Customize an existing style
- Send first
- Product link, chosen reference image and a change list
- Decisions to develop
- Material, colour, fit, logo and the details to retain
Develop from your design
- Send first
- Front, side and rear drawings or a written brief
- Decisions to develop
- Crown and brim shape, construction, component materials and artwork
Describe the shape before choosing the details
Give the hat a construction brief that can be understood from more than one view. Describe the crown profile and depth, the intended panel layout, the brim shape and the rear arrangement. If a feature matters to the design, mark it on the drawing instead of relying on a style name alone.
For a cap, a slightly curved brim, a snapback fastening and a six-panel crown are separate choices. For a brimmed hat, crown height and brim width need their own discussion. State the intended wearer and use, then identify which measurements must be checked on the finished sample.
- Include front, side, rear and underside views where they explain the design.
- Mark dimensions and the measurement method for each important point.
- Distinguish required details from ideas you would like to compare.
Connect your material choice with your customer logo
Customer-specified materials are part of the project discussion. Tell us the required fibre composition, fabric construction, colour and component location. A cotton crown, a mesh area, a lining and a closure do not necessarily share one material specification.
Bring the artwork into that discussion early. Embroidery, printing and patches place different requirements on the surface and the available area. For example, a raised logo near a panel seam needs a review of its size, backing and clearance; a patch needs its own material, edge and attachment decision. Confirm the combination on the exact hat rather than choosing the logo method in isolation.
Agree what the sample must resolve
Use the sample discussion to settle the decisions that affect the finished hat: material and construction, actual measurements and fit, colour and finish, and the complete logo treatment. Identify the artwork version and the sample revision so feedback refers to the same configuration.
Separate accepted details from items still being reviewed. A colour approval does not automatically approve a change in logo size, and a fit approval should remain attached to the measured size. Record requested revisions with a marked image or a numbered note, then confirm the resulting version before moving to the agreed order specification.
- Define the sample design, included decoration and measurements to review.
- Compare the proposed sample with the brief and record specific changes.
- Identify the accepted revision and the details carried into the order.
Send a brief that supports a useful quotation
Include quantities by style, colour and size, the delivery destination and any target date. Tell us whether the date relates to sample review, dispatch or arrival, so the discussion addresses the right milestone. Sample arrangements, minimum quantities, pricing and production or delivery timing are confirmed for the selected project.
