Compare the crown with the underside
Confirm polyester/cotton ratios and positions, twill weave, thickness and finish, and the underbrim's actual suede material or surface treatment. Inspect its backing, attachment and edge finish alongside the bill support, then match Black, White, Navy Blue or Champagne to the approved underbrim and thread palette.
- Agree which shade belongs to the crown, bill underside and artwork.
- Inspect front support, lining and band on the selected five-panel build.
- Check requested fused areas with the actual panel seams.
- Set bill curvature, width and projection before sizing artwork.
- Specify machine or 3D embroidery thread, coverage, backing and raised height where relevant.

- Confirm selected button, lace or eyelet material, attachment and inclusion.
Establish the fitted One Size
Determine whether the 56–58cm or 58–60cm reference applies to the adult sample, using an agreed method and tolerance. Inspect actual rear construction and any intended stretch/recovery, assessing pressure, retention and crown depth without assuming an adjustable fastening.
Proof finishes and separate care needs
Approve any screen, heat-transfer, sublimation-transfer, digital or embossed work on the actual component substrate. Check a selected washed/distressed effect against both twill and suede surface, then trial the cap for sports, golf, travel or casual outdoor use in the intended season and obtain required performance evidence and separate care guidance for crown, underbrim, artwork and fitted band.
