Move Your Custom Hat Production to a New China Factory

Changing a production partner is easier when your design is clear outside the old order history. Bring your own specification, authorised artwork and reference samples. We can review the custom hat you want to continue making, together with the changes that would make the next version work better for your business.

Recover the Product Decisions You Own

Gather the drawings, material references, artwork files and accepted measurements available to your team. Separate information you own from material that belongs to another party. An old invoice or product photograph may identify a style, but it rarely explains every construction detail needed for a new development discussion.

Compare the Details That Define Continuity

Start with the crown shape, brim profile, fit and visible finish that your customers recognise. A similar style name does not establish an exact match. We can use the sample and specification to discuss the important details, then identify which need a closer review before you approve a replacement version.

Seam, fabric and brim details help explain the appearance you want to retain.

Separate Continuity from Improvement

Tell us which features must remain and which you want to change. A revised fabric, different closure or adjusted logo can be worthwhile, but each changes the comparison with the old sample. Keep the two goals distinct so a development choice is not mistaken for an unnoticed production difference.

Rebuild the Component Specification

A physical sample does not automatically reveal every fibre, finish or hidden component. Share any supporting material records and mark the information still uncertain. We can discuss the nominated requirements and possible sourcing questions with you. Material and component planning helps keep these decisions separate from the overall look.

Bring Branding Files Forward Carefully

Check the artwork version, decoration dimensions and positions used on the accepted product. Include labels and trims if they are part of the range. A photograph can support the discussion, while an editable authorised file gives a more useful design reference. Mark any intentional branding change as a new approval item.

Use a New Sample Approval

Review the proposed hat against your own reference and the current specification. Record accepted differences as well as revisions. An earlier approval from another order should not silently approve a changed material or construction. Our sample approval guide helps turn the comparison into a clear decision for both sides.

  2. 02Review the new sample
  3. 03Resolve stated differences
  4. 04Accept the current version

Keep Repeatability in the Order Record

Once you accept the new version, keep its drawing, material details, artwork and measurements together. Use that record when discussing the next quantity or colour. You then have a product definition your team can review, rather than relying on a style nickname or a recollection of an earlier shipment.

Set the Transfer Schedule by Milestones

Share your stock position and the date that matters to your business. Sample review, revisions, material decisions and the proposed bulk order need separate discussion. We agree timing and commercial conditions around the actual scope. Avoid planning a transfer solely around an assumed match to a previous supplier's timetable.

Send the Product You Want to Continue

Send your owned sample information, drawings, material requirements and artwork, together with a keep-and-change list. Add the quantities, destination and target milestones. We can review the transfer as a defined custom hat project. Repeat-order specifications provide the next link once the new version has been accepted.
